Second Impact Day at Dropbox highlights work of Foundation partners

Earlier this month, Dropbox hosted its second Impact Day—a day of service that encourages global Dropbox employees to give, learn, and volunteer. Through the collaborative efforts of the Dropbox Foundation and our employee-led interest group, Dropbox for Good, there were 15 events through which Dropbox employees logged over 250 volunteer hours collectively.

Dropbox partnered with a few of our Foundation partners to create opportunities for employees to get involved in social impact work. In particular, we highlighted the work of two current Foundation Partners, Belong To Youth Services and Human Rights Law Centre, and one alum partner, Larkin Street Youth Services.

We hosted a volunteer opportunity to pack kits for celebrating Pride for Larkin Street Youth Services whose mission is to help youth experiencing homelessness. Oisin O' Reilly, Head of Operations and Fundraising at Belong To, joined us virtually to share how their organization supports LGBTI+ young people in Ireland and their plans for Pride Month. We also welcomed HRLC’s executive director, Hugh de Kretser, to a webinar to talk about their advocacy work over the last year including COVID response, racial justice, climate change, and LGBTQ+ rights.

“Working with HRLC through the Dropbox Foundation over the past two years has been incredibly rewarding,” says Michael Bradley, partner account manager at Dropbox. “HRLC’s contribution towards human rights globally is so important and I'm very proud that Dropbox is supporting them in their efforts.”

Making work human is integral to how we build community at Dropbox, so we hope Impact Days help empower Dropbox employees to be change makers in their local communities and beyond.

We look forward to continue highlighting opportunities to work with our Foundation partners in the Impact Days to come.
